Heather Chan
Hi! Nice to meet you 👋
About
I am a highly driven senior product manager who has a diverse background in engineering, design, and people management. I graduated from Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo and have over 7 years of experience at companies ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups; across healthcare, finance, and manufacturing industries.
I love challenging myself and others to create meaningful products that people use daily (like LinkedIn or Spotify). I'm especially interested in building products related to finance, entertainment, AI, or any combination of the above.
I bring my full self to work and enjoy team cultures where others are encouraged to do the same! On a personal note, I enjoy travelling, rock climbing, and crafting.

Travelling
I've been fortunate to travel to all 7 continents and over 25 countries, giving me a broader perspective and the ability to approach challenges with adaptability, openness, and a global mindset.
Solo journeys through Australia and New Zealand pushed me to be even more independent and confident navigating unknowns, while time in places like South Africa, Botswana, and Zambia, deepened cultural awareness and ability to empathize with people from all walks of life. Kayaking alongside penguins in Antartica is also a core memory!
Rock Climbing
I am extremely passionate about climbing and enjoy indoor and outdoor leading and top roping. Climbing since 2018 has required ongoing dedication and consistency (3x a week), challenging me both physically and mentally.
I am constantly chasing that satisfying feeling of solving a tough problem under pressure, especially when collaborating and helping others in the supportive climbing community.
Reading
Reading has always been a huge part of my life, keeping me curious, exploring new perspectives, and becoming more self-reflective.
I enjoy both fiction and non-fiction, some of my favourites include David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell, I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi, and Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.
Crafting
Through crocheting, knitting, baking, and pottery, I’ve learned to think outside the box, experiment with new ideas, and embrace (many, many) mistakes as part of the process.
These hobbies continually challenge me to learn new skills, stay humble, and push beyond my comfort zone.

Stick your neck out and say hi!
I would love to hear from you!
